Kreta, Agia Marina
Agia Marina
Lively and popular seaside resort - perfect for families with children!
Agia Marina, with its green and lush surroundings, is a truly charming town, yet lively and vibrant. A good combination for those who want a relaxing, yet eventful holiday.
Agia Marina is well suited for families with children, as the beach is shallow. Here there is a good selection of shops and restaurants, as well as a well-equipped playground with bouncy castles and other fun! There are a majority of family-run restaurants and taverns serving authentic Cretan cuisine, but also restaurants serving international cuisine.
Kreta, Kato Stalos
Kato Stalos
Quiet location, with close to everything.
The small town with a wonderful Greek countryside close by. Charming, cozy and perfect for families with children and couples who want to escape to an idyllic little seaside resort. There is a quiet nightlife with some beach taverns and a few bars. But if you want more speed and fan, you will find the city of Chania only 7 km away. Here the beach is long, wide and shallow, it is perfect for play and mischief! Beautiful surroundings, good food and cool history can be explored. The neighboring village of Agia Marina, which has more or less grown together with Kato Stalos, also offers taverns to have a good lunch at and shops to stroll around in when you feel that the sun has done its thing.
Kreta, Kolymbari
Kolymbari
Experience the tranquil village atmosphere!
At the foot of the mountainous peninsula Rodopous lies the small fishing village of Kolymbari. Despite the fact that the resort slowly but surely attracts more and more tourists every summer, it is still unaffected by them and retains its picturesque charm. There is peace and quiet here and village life goes on as usual. You go here to relax. The resort is also a good base for those who want to discover the westernmost parts of Crete. The heart of the village is the harbor with its fishing boats and the small taverns that serve the day's catch. In the village there are otherwise a couple of cafes, a bar and a couple of grocery stores. On Fridays there is a market during the summer. The resort has also become a base for many climbers and hikers who want to explore Rodopous. On the east side of the center is a nice pebble beach.
Rhodos, Faliraki
Faliraki
The popular resort of Faliraki has grown up along the southern part of the island's perhaps finest beach, Faliraki Beach. It is a four kilometer long sandy beach. The beach is protected from wind and waves and has become popular with sun worshipers. But when the sun goes down, the pulse rises in the city's intense nightlife. In the center there is a rich selection of restaurants, bars and nightclubs that do not close until the sun rises again. But even if the center is lively, it is not far to the tranquil, rural village life. This means that the place appeals to most people, everything from party-happy young people to couples and families with children. Families with children are attracted by the fine sandy beach, the large range of facilities (there is a really good water park) while it is possible to escape the nightlife. There is a lot to discover in the surroundings, everything from wonderful small coves with crystal clear water, to charming villages and ancient relics. Faliraki is located about 15 km east of Rhodes town.
